Trademark functions refer to the various roles a mark plays in commerce. The most important is the origin function, which indicates to consumers the company from which a product or service originates. Other key functions include the differentiation function, advertising function, quality assurance function, and investment function – all of which contribute to strengthening the brand image and securing its economic value.
