Similarity Search

A similarity search involves the systematic comparison of the trademark to be registered with existing trademarks to identify any visual, phonetic, or conceptual similarities that might lead to confusion. Since the German and European trademark offices do not proactively check for potentially conflicting older third-party marks, conducting a similarity search prior to filing is highly recommended.
