Distinctiveness

Distinctiveness refers to a trademark’s ability to differentiate a company’s products or services from those of others. The more effectively a trademark enables consumers to associate the marked products or services exclusively with a particular company, the greater its distinctiveness. Well-known marks typically exhibit high distinctiveness.
